Tern Captain's Chair Gen 2

The Captain’s Chair Gen 2 is the go-to passenger seat for older children and adult passengers across the Tern range — and the one most of our customers end up adding to their setup. The Gen 2 update brings a wider seat pad for more wiggle room, longer side rails for hand protection and use as armrests, and a new rear bar for attaching a bag, basket or extra safety lights.

On the Tern GSD, it can carry one adult passenger or up to two older children, when paired with the appropriate handholds (such as the Sidekick Joyride Bars Gen 3 or Sidekick Flat Bars Gen 3 and footrests. On the Tern HSD, Quick Haul, Quick Haul Long and Short Haul, it carries one passenger. The reclined backrest and extra-thick cushion make longer journeys genuinely comfortable.

Remove the seat cushion and the frame supports a crate or box for cargo when paired with the Sidekick Joyride Bars — making the Captain’s Chair Gen 2 a flexible accessory rather than a single-purpose passenger seat. The aluminium build keeps weight down, the 130 lb / 59 kg passenger weight limit handles adults, and the bike can still be parked vertically with the Captain’s Chair installed.
