Ahoy there! Founded in 2014, Flying Dutchman is a London bike specialist with three shops — focused on family bikes, cargo bikes, electric bikes and classic city bikes built for everyday use.
We source bikes from across Europe, but the idea behind Flying Dutchman has always been fundamentally Dutch: to make cycling a genuinely viable form of daily transport. Not a weekend sport. Not a “lycra required” hobby. Just a practical, comfortable way to move around the city.
Regardless of fitness level or experience, cycling should feel accessible. The feedback we love most is simple: “This bike changed my life.” And honestly, that’s why we do it.

How it works with us
It starts with an appointment and a conversation — routes, storage, carrying, comfort and confidence. From there, we’ll suggest a small shortlist and set the bikes up properly for a test ride. When you’ve chosen, we’ll help with fit and the practical details (seats, racks, boxes, locks if needed) — and you can come back later for adjustments or workshop support.
