A compact hauler, built for the load

The Quick Haul is a compact cargo bike — close to the length of an ordinary bike, so it threads through traffic and stores easily, while still being built to carry a child and a proper load. Frame and fork are EFBE-tested to its full 150 kg maximum gross vehicle weight, and the Bosch motor and battery are UL 2849 certified for electrical and fire safety. An ultra-low 490 mm standover makes getting on and off easy, and holding a foot down at the lights steadier — which counts for most with a child on the back.

The rear Atlas Q Rack is rated to 50 kg and sits low to the ground, so a child seat keeps its weight close to the frame and the bike stays planted rather than tippy. Shimano hydraulic disc brakes give dependable stopping loaded and in the wet, and the Combo Mount at the front takes up to 20 kg of lighter cargo without affecting the steering. A tool-free adjustable stem and seatpost let two adults of different heights share the school run comfortably. The Quick Haul is compact enough to feel quick and manoeuvrable in traffic, but practical enough to carry a week of shopping, work bags and all the gear that makes a commute worthwhile. It is the bike you reach for every day without thinking about it.

Safety and build quality


The Quick Haul frame and fork are EFBE-tested to the bike’s 150 kg maximum gross vehicle weight. The Bosch e-bike system — motor, battery and charger — is certified to UL 2849 for electrical and fire safety. Shimano hydraulic disc brakes give reliable stopping power under load.

Bosch support and everyday riding


Both Quick Haul models use Bosch motor support, but the difference between them matters in real-world riding. The Quick Haul D8 uses the Bosch Active Line Plus motor with 50 Nm of torque — quiet, smooth and well-suited to relaxed city riding on flatter routes.

The Quick Haul P9 steps up to the Bosch Performance Line motor with 65 Nm of torque. That extra power is noticeable on hills, headwinds and loaded starts — particularly if you are carrying a child or doing longer daily commutes.

Both models share the same 400 Wh Bosch PowerPack battery and the same overall format. The motor is the main decision.

Quick Haul or Quick Haul Long — which one?


The Quick Haul is shorter, lighter and built around one-child carrying with a 50 kg rear rack. It is the better choice for commuting, daily errands and city riders who want a compact, nimble bike.

The Quick Haul Long adds the length, frame strength and 90 kg rear rack capacity for two-child carrying and heavier family loads — at the cost of a slightly larger bike to park and store.

If you are carrying one child or no child, choose the Quick Haul. If you have two children to carry now or soon, choose the Quick Haul Long.

Can the Tern Quick Haul carry a child?

Yes — with the right accessories, the Quick Haul carries one child on the rear rack. The Clubhouse Mini is the foundation of the passenger setup, and the Storm Box Mini adds weather protection for wet school runs. It is designed for one child rather than two — if you need to carry two children, the Quick Haul Long D9 or the GSD is the right starting point.
What is the difference between the Quick Haul D8 and P9?

Both share the same compact frame, 400 Wh Bosch PowerPack, 50 kg rear rack and 150 kg maximum gross weight. The difference is the motor and gearing.

The D8 uses the Bosch Active Line Plus motor with 50 Nm of torque and Shimano 8-speed gearing — quiet, smooth and well suited to flatter city routes and relaxed riding. The P9 steps up to the Bosch Performance Line motor with 65 Nm and Shimano 9-speed gearing — noticeably stronger on hills, headwinds and loaded starts, and the better choice if you carry a child or ride longer daily distances.
Does the Tern Quick Haul fold, and how do you store it?

Despite Tern's folding-bike heritage, the Quick Haul does not fold. What it does do is park vertically — it stands upright on its rear rack, taking up a footprint close to a potted plant. The adjustable Andros stem drops the handlebars down so it sits more compactly against a wall or in a hallway. For flats, homes without a shed, or shared storage, that vertical parking is usually what makes it practical to live with.
Can the Tern Quick Haul carry a dog?

Yes — it is one of the better bikes in the Tern range for dog owners. The RuffHouse front carrier gives a secure, visible spot up front, and the Soft Crate Mini with the Dog Roof Mini gives a sheltered rear setup with a safety harness. The compact format keeps the whole thing manageable rather than unwieldy, which matters when you are lifting a dog in and out.
