Tern Stow Decks

The Stow Decks are one of Tern's most useful patent-pending additions to the cargo bike platform — a pair of folding side decks that lock at five different angles to support partially loaded panniers, bulky cargo, or passenger footrests, then fold flat against the frame when not in use.

Each deck carries up to 35 kg, which adds meaningful capacity to bikes already built around two-child carrying and heavy hauling. The low mounting points keep cargo weight close to the ground for stable handling under load, and the five lockable angles mean half-full panniers stay in shape rather than collapsing inward.

For passenger use, the open angle gives older children and adult passengers something comfortable to rest their feet on for longer rides — a real upgrade over a flat rack with no foot support. For cargo use, they support and stabilise the Cargo Hold 52 and Cargo Hold 72 Panniers, fold around bulky items like camping kit, and create a wider, more secure carrying platform without permanently increasing the bike's footprint.

Made from corrosion-resistant aluminium for year-round use. Compatible with the Tern GSD Gen 3, Quick Haul Long and Orox. Required for the Storm Box installation on the GSD Gen 3.
