Riese & Müller Multitinker2 Family Kit
Once children are past the child-seat stage, this is what they sit on. The Family Kit makes the Multitinker2's rear platform into a proper bench — a cushion and backrest to settle into, an outer bar running round the outside, and a second bar within reach to hold. R&M approve it for two children aged one to seven, up to 50kg between them.
The sideloader gives feet somewhere to rest on the move, and takes bulkier loads when nobody is riding on the back. The bike's standard spoke guard keeps small feet and loose straps away from the wheel. On days without passengers, the same space swallows a 60 x 40cm crate — so the school run and the weekly shop are handled by one setup rather than two.
For riding through the winter, the Family Kit Plus is the same bench with weather protection added.
R&M publish setup videos and child-transport guidance at r-m.de/en-gb/service/instructions, and it is worth reading the national rules on carrying children by bike before you ride. We are happy to talk safe setups through in person too.
