For the passenger who has outgrown a safety bar. R&M approve the Passenger Kit for one rider aged eight or over, up to 70kg — older children, and lighter adults too.

It is deliberately spare: a padded shelf to sit on, a grab handle at the saddle to hold, and a wheel guard keeping feet and straps clear of the spokes. There is no rail around the carrier, which is rather the point — an older passenger can get on and off without climbing through anything.

Younger children need more than this. The Family Kit adds a bench, backrest and safety bar, and is approved for two children aged one to seven.
