The Xroad is Moustache’s all-rounder — the bike for people who won’t be pinned down to one kind of riding. Commute on tarmac through the week, cut home along a canal path, take to the forest at the weekend: the Xroad takes it all in its stride. The 2 is the way into the range: a Bosch 75 Nm Performance Line motor, a 100 mm SR Suntour suspension fork, wide grippy Schwalbe tyres and full commuting kit, on an upright, easy-going frame.

One bike, every kind of ride

The Xroad 2 is built for riders who want a single bike that does everything — the weekday commute and the weekend escape, the high street and the towpath. Wide Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres grip loose gravel and wet roads alike, the 100 mm suspension fork and suspension seatpost soak up potholes, kerbs and roots, and the upright Moustache riding position keeps you comfortable and in control whether you’re filtering through traffic or picking a line down a bridleway.

It’s fully kitted for real life, too: integrated lights, tubular mudguards, and a MIK HD / QL3 rear rack that takes panniers or a crate for the shopping. One day it’s a commuter; the next it’s an adventure bike — and it never feels like a compromise either way.

Built for everyday London and beyond

The frame is Moustache’s hydroformed 6061 alloy with the Bosch PowerTube battery integrated low in the down tube. The Bosch Performance Line motor (75 Nm) runs the Smart System — eBike Flow app, adjustable assistance and on-screen navigation via the Purion 200 display. A 100 mm SR Suntour suspension fork, a suspension seatpost and an adjustable stem handle comfort and fit, topped with an Essenza+ saddle.

Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes handle the stopping in all conditions, integrated AXA lights run off the main battery, and Moustache’s tubular mudguards and a MIK HD / QL3 rear rack come as standard. Gears are a Shimano CUES 9-speed drivetrain with a wide range for hills and gravel alike, and an ABUS frame lock secures the bike for quick stops. Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres round it off — grippy off-road, fast-rolling on tarmac.

As happy on a towpath as on the high street

What makes the Xroad special is that it refuses to pick a lane. The wide, semi-knobbly Smart Sam tyres roll fast and quiet on tarmac but bite into gravel, mud and wet leaves when the surface turns; the front suspension and wide tyres together mean broken tarmac, dropped kerbs and root-strewn paths all feel much the same underneath you. It’s a genuine crossover — not a road bike with an off-road badge, and not a mountain bike pretending to commute.

For London specifically, that versatility pays off daily: the same bike that handles a pothole-ridden commute will happily take the scenic route home along the canal, or head out of the city for a weekend loop. One bike, one lock, one set of habits — and far more of the map open to you.

Which Xroad is right for you?

The Xroad comes with front suspension or full suspension, depending on how rough you like your riding. The 2 here has a 100 mm suspension fork — plenty for towpaths, gravel and the everyday knocks of city roads. If your weekends head off-road in earnest — rooty trails, rougher descents — the Xroad FS 6 adds full front-and-rear suspension, more power and a dropper post. Mostly on smooth city streets? Yes, within reason. The 100 mm suspension fork, wide Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres and upright, stable geometry make it confident on gravel, towpaths, bridleways and light trails — the kind of off-road most people actually ride. For rougher, rootier trails and steeper descents, the full-suspension Xroad FS 6 adds a rear shock and is the better tool. Tell us where you like to ride and we’ll point you to the right one.

Very — it comes fully equipped for it. Integrated lights, tubular mudguards, hydraulic disc brakes and a MIK HD / QL3 rack for panniers mean it’s ready for daily use straight away, and the Smart Sam tyres roll quickly enough on tarmac not to feel like hard work. It’s a commuter that happens to also be an adventure bike, rather than the other way round.

The Lundi and Mardi are pure city bikes — smooth-tyred, road-focused, at their best on tarmac. The Xroad adds grippy off-road tyres, more suspension travel and a more rugged character, so it can leave the road when you want to. If your riding is city-only, a Lundi or Mardi is lighter and more elegant; if you want to explore beyond the tarmac, the Xroad is the one.

Yes — the Shimano CUES 9-speed drivetrain has a wide gear range that copes with steep climbs and loaded riding, and the Bosch 75 Nm Performance Line motor adds plenty of assistance on top. Between the two, hills — paved or off-road — are rarely a problem. We can talk through the gearing if you have particularly steep routes in mind.
