Moustache Xroad FS 6

The Xroad FS 6 is Moustache’s all-road e-bike: one bike built to commute through the week, carry the kids or the shopping, and head off onto towpaths, broken lanes and forest tracks at the weekend. Full suspension and grippy tyres mean very little slows it down.

It runs the Bosch Performance Line CX motor, with a wide-range Shimano 11-speed drivetrain for climbing and varied terrain, Magura hydraulic disc brakes, a dropper post and a rack that’s mounted to the suspended rear, so your cargo gets the same cushioning you do.

It runs on Bosch’s Smart System, so you get app connectivity, on-screen navigation and built-in security, and the battery lifts out for charging indoors. You’ll find it in our London shops in Camden, Notting Hill and Hackney, and we can order custom colours and specs.

A full-suspension all-road e-bike

The Xroad FS is Moustache’s all-rounder — the bike for people who don’t want to own two. It carries the easy, upright manners of a city bike, but adds full suspension, a powerful motor and proper grip, so the ride doesn’t stop where the smooth tarmac does.

Point it at a morning commute and it’s calm and quiet; point it at a canal towpath, a rutted lane or a forest trail and it stays composed where an ordinary city bike would be out of its depth. It’s a genuine do-everything bike, as happy with the weekly shop as a weekend explore.

One bike for the commute and the weekend

It’s for people who want a single bike to cover everything — the daily commute, the school run and the shop, then towpaths, bridleways and country lanes when there’s time to explore. If you’ve been tempted by two bikes, a practical commuter and something more capable, the Xroad does both jobs well.

It carries like a workhorse, too: the suspended rear rack takes panniers, a basket or a compatible child seat, and the frame is rated to a high total weight, so loading it up doesn’t faze it. The riding position is upright and relaxed, and the low step-over makes it easy to get on and off, kitted out for work or dressed for a trail.

Full suspension, Bosch CX power and 11-speed gears

Suspension front and rear is what sets the FS apart: an SR Suntour fork with 120 mm of travel and a lockout for smooth tarmac, and Moustache’s Magic Grip Control air shock at the rear, with the frame’s central pivot keeping it sensitive over roots, ruts and rough surfaces.

Power comes from a Bosch Performance Line CX motor (up to 120 Nm) with a 600 Wh battery, a Kiox 500 display and the option of Bosch’s PowerMore extender for longer days. A wide-range Shimano CUES 11-speed drivetrain handles steep climbs and fast flats alike, and Magura hydraulic disc brakes, four-piston up front, give strong, controlled stopping in all weather.

It’s finished for real use in any season: grippy Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres, a dropper post, an adjustable stem, full mudguards, integrated lights, a kickstand and a frame lock, all as standard.

From the commute to the trail

The Xroad’s whole point is range — not battery range, but the range of places it’ll take you. On road, the suspension and upright position make a rough commute feel smooth, and the motor makes light work of hills and headwinds. Off road, the same suspension and the grippy tyres keep it sure-footed on towpaths, gravel and packed-earth trails.

It’s an all-road bike rather than a mountain bike — it’s at its best on mixed surfaces and light off-road rather than technical descents. If your riding is almost entirely city streets and you mainly want comfort over rough tarmac, the Mardi FS is the more focused choice; the Xroad is for when the route regularly leaves the road.

Whichever way your week goes, the suspended rear rack means a child seat or a full set of panniers gets the same cushioned ride you do — a real difference on rough ground with a load on board.

FAQs

What kind of riding is the Xroad FS 6 for?

It’s an all-road bike — designed to do a bit of everything. It’s equally at home on a city commute, a school run with a child seat, a canal towpath or a gravel lane, thanks to its full suspension, upright position and grippy tyres. It’s the one-bike answer for people who don’t want a separate commuter and weekend bike.

How off-road can the Xroad really go?

It’s built for towpaths, bridleways, gravel tracks and packed-earth forest trails rather than technical mountain-bike terrain. The 120 mm fork, rear shock and Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres give it real capability on rough and loose surfaces, but it keeps the rack, lights and mudguards that make it a practical everyday bike. Think ‘adventurous commuter’, not ‘trail bike’.

What is the suspended rear rack, and why does it matter?

On most bikes the rack is bolted to a rigid part of the frame, so anything you carry feels every bump. On the Xroad FS the rack is mounted to the suspended rear, so a child seat, panniers or a basket benefit from the rear suspension too — less bounce, more stability and more comfort for whatever, or whoever, you’re carrying over rough ground.

Can I carry a child seat and luggage on the Xroad?

Yes. The MIK HD rear rack takes panniers, a basket or a compatible child seat (such as the Urban Iki), and the frame is rated to a high total weight, so it’s happy fully loaded. Because the rack is on the suspended rear, loads get a smoother ride than on a rigid bike.
