The Mardi 27.4 FS is the full-suspension bike in the Mardi range: a low step-through city e-bike with front and rear suspension to take the roughest streets in its stride. It pairs a Bosch Performance Line PX motor with a clean, low-maintenance belt drive.

It takes the standard Mardi 27.4 and adds a rear shock and a dropper post, so where the regular Mardi smooths the city, the FS glides over it — cobbles, broken tarmac, kerbs and potholes all but disappear.

It runs on Bosch’s Smart System, so you get app connectivity, on-screen navigation and built-in security, and the battery lifts out for charging indoors. You’ll find it in our London shops in Camden, Notting Hill and Hackney, and we can order custom colours and specs.

It’s the flagship of the Mardi comfort range, and it rides like it. If you don’t need rear suspension, the 27.4 covers the same ground for less.

Build & technology

Bosch Performance Line PX BDU34, Smart System (90 Nm) with a 600 Wh battery, expandable to 850 Wh with a PowerMore range extender. Full suspension: SR Suntour fork (up to 100 mm) and a Moustache Magic Grip Control rear shock (115 mm). Shimano Nexus 5 hub with a Gates carbon belt, AXA Block XXL frame lock, and a light QL3 / MIK-compatible rear rack, on the cast Mardi FS low-stepover frame.

Full suspension, belt drive and Bosch PX power

The heart of the FS is its suspension: an SR Suntour fork with 100 mm of travel and a lockout for smooth tarmac, and Moustache’s Magic Grip Control air shock at the rear, with the frame’s central pivot keeping it responsive over everything from small ripples to sharp edges.

Driving it is a Bosch Performance Line PX motor (90 Nm) with a 600 Wh battery and a Purion 200 display, paired with a Shimano Nexus 5 hub and a Gates carbon belt — quiet, clean and almost maintenance-free. A dropper post, adjustable stem and wide Schwalbe Super Moto-X tyres complete the comfort.

It arrives fully equipped for the city — mudguards, integrated lights, a MIK-compatible rack, kickstand and frame lock, all as standard.

Do you need full suspension? The Mardi vs the Mardi FS

The FS is a step up in price over the standard Mardi 27, and whether it’s worth it comes down to your roads. Both share the same Bosch PX motor, 600 Wh battery, belt drive and city kit; the FS adds the rear shock and the dropper post.

If your routes are mostly smooth tarmac with the odd bump, the standard Mardi’s front suspension and suspended seatpost are plenty. If you’re on genuinely rough roads every day, the full suspension earns its keep — taking the fatigue out of the ride and keeping the rear wheel planted and comfortable.
