Hiplok E-DX Chain & D Lock Set

Hiplok built this set for e-bikes and cargo bikes, and the logic holds up on a London street: a D lock for the frame, and a metre-plus of chain for everything a D lock cannot reach.

The DX is the D lock — 14mm hardened shackle, anti-rotation double locking tabs, anti-pick cylinder, rated Sold Secure Pedal Cycle Diamond and Powered Cycle Gold in its own right. The X CHAIN is a 10mm hardened steel loop-end chain giving 1.1m of locking length, which is the part that makes this work on a longer frame: loop the chain round the frame and the stand, then close it with the DX.

Rated Sold Secure Gold as a set. Unlike the XL chain, the X CHAIN also works with the D1000 and DX1000 if you upgrade the D lock later.

Compatibility

Rated Sold Secure Gold as a set. The DX on its own carries Sold Secure Pedal Cycle Diamond and Powered Cycle Gold.

Sold Secure is the UK testing house, owned by the Master Locksmiths Association. Gold is the level most UK cycle insurers set as their minimum — worth checking your policy.
