Angle grinders are the tool that changed bike theft in London, and the D1000 is Hiplok's answer to them. The shackle uses a specialist composite that grinds down cutting discs rather than being cut by them — the disc gives out before the lock does. It is independently rated Sold Secure Diamond, for both pedal and powered cycles.

Anti-rotation double locking tabs mean a thief has to make two cuts to release it, not one, which doubles the time they need in public. The 92 x 155mm locking area is compact on purpose: keep the fit tight and there is nothing to lever against. A rubberised outer shackle keeps it off your paintwork.
