The Multicharger3 is R&M's full-size longtail — powered by Bosch Performance Line PX (90Nm) or Cargo Line (100Nm) motors, with Enviolo, Rohloff or Shimano gearing options. It carries two children on a long rear platform while riding exactly like a normal bike at the front — ideal for the London school run. The lower weather protection stays in place, shielding children's legs and doubling as covered storage for your own bags and kit; the top section folds away once the children are dropped off. If you want serious family carrying capacity without committing to a box bike, the Multicharger3 is the strongest argument for a different approach.

Who it's for

This is the bike for families who want to carry two children without committing to a box bike. The Multicharger3 rides like a bike you already know — the weight is at the rear, the front handles normally, and you sit in a familiar position. It suits anyone who does the school run in the morning and commutes on the same bike afterwards, without the two journeys feeling like they require different vehicles. The Mixte version is worth considering if two adults of different heights are sharing the morning drop-off — same specification, lower frame.

Build & technology

The weather protection is one of those details that makes a real difference to the daily routine. It comes in two sections: the lower panels are fixed in place, shielding children's legs from wind and rain and doubling as a covered storage area for bags and kit once the children are dropped off; the top section screws onto the safety bar and folds fully forward, so it is only up when passengers actually need it.

The Multicharger3 is available with Bosch Performance Line PX (90Nm) or Cargo Line motor up to 100Nm, with a Speed version for faster commuting. Supernova lights are fitted across all versions. The Family configuration arrives preconfigured with racks, passenger rails and the accessories most families need — a practical starting point that avoids building from scratch. The rear platform takes two children with compatible child seats, and the carrier is rated for 65kg of cargo. The Multicharger3 Mixte — step-through frame, identical specification — is available for anyone who prefers a lower frame or is sharing the bike between two adults.
