The Carrie2 is R&M's compact Long John — a front-loading cargo bike at just 209cm long with the Bosch Performance Line PX motor with 90Nm of torque, Enviolo AUTOMATiQ, Vario or Touring gearing and Gates carbon belt drive. It carries up to two children in a Flex Box, fits into spaces a traditional cargo bike cannot, and comes with a Supernova Mini2 headlight and zipper door as standard.

Who it's for

The Carrie2 is for anyone who needs serious carrying capacity but lives or works somewhere a full-size cargo bike would be genuinely impractical — a narrow front door, a small lift, or streets where a longer bike feels like too much. At 209cm, it is compact enough to lock up where larger cargo bikes cannot, and moves through city traffic with a lightness that suits its size. It carries up to two young children, a dog, a serious weekly shop or bulky kit — and in most cases, a combination of all of these on different days of the week.

Build & technology

The new Bosch Performance Line PX motor delivers 90Nm of torque — a noticeable upgrade when setting off with a full Flex Box. The Supernova Mini2 headlight is now fitted as standard, which matters on early morning and winter commutes. The zipper door is a simple detail that turns out to matter daily — getting a child or a dog in and out of the box is something you do several times every morning. When the box is not needed, it collapses flat — keeping the bike compact and ready for whatever comes next.

Yes — R&M's child seat for the Carrie2 is designed to carry either one taller child or two smaller children aged seven or younger, secured with five-point seat belts. The zipper door makes getting children in and out considerably easier than on the previous model. Speak to us about the right configuration for your children's ages and sizes.

At 209cm overall length, the Carrie2 is significantly shorter than a traditional Long John cargo bike — around 30 to 40cm less in most cases. That difference is felt every time you navigate a tight junction, lock up on a busy street or squeeze past parked cars.

The Automatic uses Enviolo AUTOMATiQ stepless shifting — the gears adjust automatically based on your speed and effort. Combined with a Gates carbon belt drive, it is the lowest-maintenance variant and the one to choose if you want to think about nothing except riding. It suits the Carrie2's city character well.
