The MEGA is the heaviest chain Hiplok make: 22mm hardened steel, 1.3 metres of locking length, and 12.3kg on the scales. That weight is the whole proposition. This is a chain that stays where the bike sleeps — a garage, a shed, a bike store — and it carries a Sold Secure Powered Cycle Diamond rating, the level normally reserved for motorcycles.

The circular loop end takes a lot of frame, which is why it works for cargo bikes and for securing more than one bike to a single anchor point. Hiplok designed it around motorcycles first, and list it for e-bikes and cargo bikes at home.

Needs a D lock to close the loop. Pair it with a D1000 or DX1000 and a ground anchor and you have a home setup that will take a very long time to get through.
