The DX1000 is the larger of Hiplok's two anti-grinder D locks, and the one worth looking at if you ride a cargo bike, a longtail or anything with substantial tubing. Its 112 x 205mm locking area goes round frames and stands that the smaller D1000 will not, which on a front-loader is usually the deciding factor.

The shackle uses the same specialist composite: it wears down angle grinder cutting discs rather than being cut through, and it is rated Sold Secure Diamond for both pedal and powered cycles. Anti-rotation double locking tabs mean two cuts are needed to release it, not one.

Available in all black and neon yellow. Carry it on the bike with the BR1000 bracket — the Carry Pouch fits the smaller D1000 only. Bring the bike in and we will check the fit around your frame and stand before you commit.

Security rating

Sold Secure Powered Cycle Diamond and Pedal Cycle Diamond — the highest ratings awarded. Powered Cycle Diamond requires at least 90 seconds of angle-grinder resistance in testing; Hiplok's own tests put the 1000 Series well beyond that.

Sold Secure is the UK testing house, owned by the Master Locksmiths Association. Many UK cycle insurers require Gold or above — worth checking your policy.
