A light, modern city bike

The Esprit is one of the lighter e-bikes in the Gazelle range, built on a sturdy oversized aluminium frame with a clean, modern look and a mid-motor mounted low in the frame for balance. It comes in low-step and high-step frames across five sizes, XS to XL, with an integrated front light and balloon Schwalbe tyres — an easy, good-looking bike for getting to work or school and back.

Shimano power, simple and reliable

A Shimano EP5 mid-motor gives smooth, quiet assistance up to 25 km/h, with a choice of 418 or 504 Wh battery and a clear Shimano display. Gears are a low-maintenance Shimano 7-speed hub with an enclosed chain, so there’s little to fuss over. Full lights, mudguards, a rear carrier, a frame lock and hydraulic disc brakes all come as standard, ready for daily London use.

FAQs

Is the Gazelle Esprit good for hills?

The Esprit uses a Shimano EP5 mid-motor, a smooth, quiet motor well suited to flat and gently rolling city routes. It handles everyday London riding comfortably; if you face consistently steep climbs, a Gazelle with a higher-torque Bosch motor, such as the Avignon, will suit you better, and we can point you to one.

How heavy is the Gazelle Esprit?

It’s 23.3 kg without the battery, which makes it one of the lighter e-bikes in the Gazelle range — handy if you have a step or two to negotiate or need to move it around.

What sizes and frames does the Esprit come in?

The Esprit comes in low-step and high-step frames across five sizes, XS to XL, so it fits a wide range of people. We’ll fit it to you before you collect it.

Is the Gazelle Esprit available on Cycle to Work?

Yes, depending on your employer and scheme provider. Contact us before ordering and we’ll confirm the best way to arrange it.
