Gazelle Chamonix C5

The Gazelle Chamonix C5 is a comfortable, active Dutch e-bike for commuting and longer rides alike. It pairs a more upright, sporty riding position with a strong Shimano mid-motor, a clean Gates belt drive and a large battery option for long range, plus suspension at the fork and seatpost. Available in low-step and high-step frames, built by Royal Dutch Gazelle and sold at Flying Dutchman in London.

Comfort with an active edge

The Chamonix suits people who use a bike for everything, from the daily commute to longer weekend rides. A Shimano EP6 mid-motor gives smooth, strong assistance up to 25 km/h, with 85 Nm of torque for hills and loads, and you can choose a 504 or 630 Wh battery, the larger giving a long real-world range. The riding position is a little more active than a classic Dutch upright, and a suspension fork, suspension seatpost and balloon tyres keep it comfortable over rough city surfaces. A tool-free adjustable stem lets you fine-tune the fit.

Who it’s for

The Chamonix suits people who use a bike for everything — the daily commute, errands and longer leisure rides — and want a bit more pace and range than a classic Dutch roadster. With low-step and high-step frames and a more active riding position, it fits a wide range of people and routes.

FAQs

Is the Chamonix good for hills?

Yes. Its Shimano EP6 motor delivers 85 Nm of torque, among the strongest fits in the Gazelle range, so it climbs confidently even loaded.

How far can the Chamonix go on a charge?

With the 630 Wh battery, Gazelle quotes up to around 180 km in Eco; real-world range depends on terrain, load and how much assistance you use. We can talk through what to expect for your routes.

Does the Chamonix come in different frames?

Yes, in both low-step and high-step frames, so it suits a range of people. We’ll fit it to you before you collect it.

Is the Chamonix available on Cycle to Work?

Yes, depending on your employer and scheme provider. Contact us before ordering and we’ll confirm the best way to arrange it.
