The Flying Dutchman doesn’t do things by halves, and this approach extends to our workshop.
Not only are our experienced mechanics Cytech trained, we have also invested in the magnificent Park Tools Professional Kit – a truly exquisite range of tools that is without parallel in the bicycle industry.

The House rules

  • We only work with pre-booked appointments for workshop jobs.
  • Booking priority is always given to Flying Dutchman customers.
  • We reserve the right to decline maintenance jobs on bikes that were not sold through our shop.
  • We reserve the right to decline maintenance jobs on bikes that are excessively dirty.
  • Unless otherwise agreed, we charge a storage fee of £10 a day for bikes that are not collected within 24hrs of the completion of work.
 

Dutch City Bike standard check and tune-up £50*

A Dutch City Bike check-up includes checking and adjusting chain tension, as well as brake and gear cable tension. The tyres are checked and inflated. The gear alignment is checked and adjusted. The lights are checked and the wiring is tested. Fresh lubrication is applied where necessary, and nuts + bolts around the bike are checked and torqued. Brake pads or rollerbrakes are checked for wear in case further work is advisable. Wheel trueness and spoke tension are checked in case further work is advisable. Price does not include the cost of any parts required to make the bike safe and successfully carry out the check-up.


Electric City Bike standard check and tune-up £60*

An Electric City Bike check-up includes checking and adjusting chain tension, as well as brake and gear cable tension. The tyres are checked and inflated. The gear alignment is checked and adjusted. Electric Cargo Bike standard check and tune-up £65*

An Electric Cargo Bike check-up includes checking and adjusting chain tension, as well as brake and gear cable tension. The tyres are checked and inflated. The gear alignment is checked and adjusted. The lights are checked and the wiring is tested. Fresh lubrication is applied where necessary, and nuts + bolts around the bike are checked and torqued. Steering linkages, ball joints, and headsets are checked, adjusted, and aligned. Brake pads or rollerbrakes are checked for wear in case further work is advisable. Wheel trueness and spoke tension are checked in case further work is advisable. Electrical systems are checked, tested, and updated where necessary. Price does not include the cost of any parts required to successfully make the bike safe and carry out the check-up.

 

 

All other workshop jobs are charged on a case-by-case basis with the understanding that an hour of professional workshop time costs £60.

*Advertised prices apply only to bikes purchased from Flying Dutchman. Bikes bought elsewhere are charged at a higher rate. 

 

N.B. “Quick and Dirty” patching up of dodgy or badly worn bikes is not our speciality. We’ll recommend repairing the bike properly (and replacing components, where necessary), or not at all if it’s not economically viable.
